  I wanted lasik. My distance vision is not perfect and I decided to pursue the surgery. After some research, I selected Tidewater Eye Center. My first consultation was very pleasant - Dana was great and Dr. Rappaport was very up front with me about my vision and the impact lasik or PRK might have on my zoom focus. I scheduled the pre-operation visit and showed up as scheduled -- ready to pay for the surgery. After two hours of testing and measuring with Lindsey, I again met with Dr. Rappaport. After reviewing my records and examining my eyes, he turned to me and told me, frankly, he didn't recommend I get the surgery. I was ready to hand the office thousands of dollars and the doctor recommended that I NOT pay them! I took his recommendation and am really glad I did -- I'd likely be in reading glasses very soon after the surgery which would have been much more inconvenient than having one nearsighted eye. I was amazed by Dr. Rappaport's honesty and integrity. He even gave me a prescription for new glasses at the end of my visit. No bill. Amazing. Thank you to Doctor Rappaport, Dana, and Lindsey - you all are a great team.

  I was very nervous about having my eyes messed with at all, much less having cataract surgery, but I had to do it and everyone at Tidewater Eye Center was great!! Very nice, informative and professional. Dr Edmonds did a perfect job on my eye! I can't believe how much better I see and I had no pain. I highly recommend going here for any eye issues.
